Progression

Under progression , progression or Progress (to lat. Progredi , advance ',' progress', 'progress') is defined as the progression of a disease (progressive (or progressive) disease ) or a further deterioration of the health status . The opposite is regredience .

Examples:

  • In alcoholism , the increase in alcohol consumption leads to a progressive loss of control .
  • In the case of cancer , growth of the tumor or the appearance of metastases means progress .
  • In Alzheimer's disease , there is a progressive decrease in memory performance.
  • With scoliosis of the spine, there is a progressive increase in the angle of curvature during pubertal growth spurts .
