Pacasmayo is a Peruvian city in the La Libertad region - around 70 kilometers north of the city of Trujillo on the Pacific coast. It is located in the province of Pacasmayo and is the administrative seat of the district of the same name .
The city had a population of 28,929 at the 2017 census. 10 years earlier this was 26,105. Pacasmayo is a popular place for inland Peruvian tourism with many small hotels. It is also a destination for wave-hungry surfers, as the world's longest wave is said to break here (up to 1.5 kilometers can be ridden in one direction). The place is called El Faro and is located directly on the coast near Pacasmayo. Outside the city is the second largest cement factory in Peru.
