Project Cross Section is the name of a Swiss artist group. She was active in the field of fine arts . She appeared for the first time in 1989 with her first group exhibition at the Dampfzentrale Bern and ended her activity in 1992.

The artist group

The performers in the group included the visual artists Franziska M. Beck, Dominik Stauch, Edy Fink, Peter Wüthrich, Lorenz Spring , Daniel Hausig , Stefan Haenni and Erich Ötterli. The aim of the group was the realization of a European exhibition activity.

Group idea and story

From the beginning, the group was planned as an artist's initiative that did not pursue an artistic credo or manifesto, but hoped to jointly realize organizational and logistical tasks for the exhibition. The group received financial support from the public sector ( Pro Helvetia ). After the 1992 exhibition "Cross Section is Dead - Long Live Cross Section" at the Kunstmuseum Thun , the group disbanded. Since then, the artists have gone their own way.
