Stefan Haenni (born August 4, 1958 in Thun ) is a Swiss painter and writer .

Life

Haenni attended the School of Design in Bern and studied art history, psychology and education at the University of Bern and the Université de Friborg . His artistic work reached its first peak in the 1980s with portrait painting . This is how u. a. Portraits of the writers Nagib Machfus , Christoph Geiser and Walter Vogt , the historian Edgar Bonjour , the artist Meret Oppenheim and the Bern rock band Züri West .

Haenni found the central theme of modern oriental studies after a trip to Egypt in 1990. This resulted in extensive groups of works such as the pictures of the West-Eastern Divan by Goethe , the series of moons Arabe and Lawrence of Arabia - the new pictures for the old film . Stefan Haenni lives in Thun today .

Artist group " Project Cross Section "

Stefan Haenni is a founding member of the Swiss artist group "Project Cross Section", which also included Franziska M. Beck, Peter Wüthrich, Dominik Stauch, Lorenz Spring , Daniel Hausig , Edy Fink and Erich Oetteli. The group existed from 1989 to 1992.
