from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lorenz Spring (* 1964 in Uster ) is a Swiss sculptor and painter.

Life

Spring was born in Uster and grew up in Bern and Münsingen BE together with his older brother Max Spring , who is also an artist. From 1980 to 1984 he completed an apprenticeship as a stone sculptor and attended the School of Design in Bern, which opened up new artistic perspectives for him. From 1984 to 1988 he worked on baroque stone monuments such as the reconstruction of the figure on the Fountain of Justice in the old town of Bern. In 1988 a study visit to Paris followed, which deepened his search for his own artistic expression. He increasingly turned to painting. His first solo exhibition at Galerie Loeb Bern took place in the same year. From 1989 to 1992 he was a member of the Swiss artist group Project Cross Section , which u. a. and Daniel Hausig , Stefan Haenni and Peter Wüthrich belonged. In 1989 the first etchings and lithographs were made. In 1990 he was in New York, Rome, Egypt, southern France and England.

In 1991 he married Jeanette Iseli, they have two children and live in Münsingen BE.
