The Art International Zurich (since 2015 under the title CONTEMPORARY ART FAIR ZURICH) is an art fair in Zurich . The fair enables communication and trade contacts between galleries, artists, collectors, media representatives and the art-interested public. At the fair, contemporary art of all styles (especially painting , sculpture , artistic photography , but also graphic , video and object art) is presented to a wide audience. The art fair takes place centrally in the Swiss metropolis of Zurich.

The art fair has so far counted more than 1000 exhibitors from over 70 countries. Since its beginnings in 1999, this art fair has seen a steady upward trend, which can be primarily attributed to the cosmopolitan mix of internationality and artistic diversity. The fair has developed into an institution in the Swiss art scene.

Art International Zurich takes place annually on 3 resp. 4 days in autumn and counted around 20,000 visitors in October 2015. The vernissage (called preview) is on the Thursday before the actual exhibition days. The exhibition opens to the general public from Friday to Sunday. The preview on Thursday is reserved for VIP guests. VIP tickets are sent to selected customers, but can also be purchased at higher prices than public tickets.

Until 2016, the fair had its permanent place in the calendar of the Kongresshaus Zurich . Due to the comprehensive renovation of the congress center, Art International Zurich moved to the historic foundry hall of the Puls 5 building complex in the Zurich-West quarter ( Turbinenplatz ) in 2017 . The new venue was well received by the public. Zurich is one of the leading art trading cities and is home to more than 100 galleries and over 50 museums.
