Peter Pan Bus Lines is a long-distance bus operator operating in the northeastern United States . Over five million passengers use the company's lines every year.

history

The company was founded as Yellow Cab Air Line in Springfield, Massachusetts and was bought by Peter Carmen Picknelly in 1933 . The family still runs the company today.

Peter Pan was part of Trailways from the 1990s and ended in 2005. In 1998 an alliance was formed with Greyhound Lines to coordinate timetables, marketing and sales.

In 2003 the Northeastern division was taken over by Coach USA . This consisted of the companies Arrow Line, Mini Coach of Boston, Maine Line, Pawtuxet Valley and the Providence-based Bonanza Bus Lines. Maine Line was sold to Cyr Bus . Pawtuxet Valley was integrated into Bonanza and Mini Coach of Boston closed.

Lines

Peter Pan's main areas of service include: Boston ; Providence ; Springfield ; Hartford ; New York City ; Philadelphia ; Baltimore ; Washington, DC ; and points in between.

Operations south of New York City (unlike the Atlantic City casino service) began expansion in the early 1990s (after which the company joined the Trailways network).

Timetables for 1994 showed further expansion to Norfolk, Virginia and Ocean City, Maryland via the Delmarva Peninsula , served by Carolina Trailways (one of the largest companies in the National Trailways network, which came under the control of competitor Greyhound Lines in 1997 ). However, this episode was short-lived. Peter Pan Lines mainly uses buses from the US manufacturer Motor Coach Industries .

Buses from Van Hool and RTS from GMC are also used. These came to Peter Pan Lines through the takeover of the Northeastern division of Coach USA in 2003.
