Promenade Quadrille

The Promenade Quadrille is a quadrille by Johann Strauss Sohn (op. 98). It was performed for the first time on May 23, 1851 in the Volksgarten in Vienna .

Remarks

This quadrille was written for a spring festival in the Volksgarten in Vienna and premiered on this occasion. The festival was cold from the weather, but the Quadrille was well received at the time. In 1924, parts of the work were incorporated into the ballet Beau Danube by Léonide Massine and Roger Désormière based on Strauss motifs.
