Propseudo asymmetry

General example of a propseudo-asymmetric molecule: replacing a substituent A with another substituent leads to pseudo-asymmetric compounds

Propseudo-asymmetry (also known as propseudochirality ) is a classifying property of a molecule from organic stereochemistry . This is a special case of prochirality .

Propseudo-asymmetry occurs in compounds that have two identical, achiral substituents and two enantiomorphic , chiral but mirror-image substituents at the propseudo-asymmetry center . If one of the two identical achiral substituents is replaced by another substituent, pseudo-asymmetric (pseudochiral) compounds are obtained.
