history
The provost's office was created during the reorganization of the Evangelical State Church of Nassau-Hessen, which was created in 1934 by merging three churches . It essentially corresponded to the superintendent of Gießen, which had existed in the Evangelical Church in Hesse since the 16th century . The Hessian hinterland with the dean's offices Gladenbach and Biedenkopf, which had been incorporated into the Wiesbaden consistory district in 1867 , remained with the provost of Nassau .
