geology

The mountains of the Provodínské Kameny represent volcanic chimneys of tertiary volcanism in northern Bohemia that were modeled by the erosion . Except for the Dlouhý vrch, which consists of phonolite , all other mountains are made of basalt . The shape of the former basalt breakthrough can be seen particularly well on Lysá Skalá.
