Prunella cretensis is a species of the genus Braunellen ( Prunella ).

Prunella cretensis is a perennial, prostrate stem hemicryptophyte whose flower shoots reach lengths of 5 to 10 centimeters. The edges of the stems and the leaves have sparse, white, adjacent hairs. The upper leaves have a lanceolate outline and are pinnately lobed to pinnate.

The three six-flowered false whorls are pressed into a spherical false ear. The upper lip of the calyx is rounded and not toothed, slightly lobed, or more rarely three-toothed, with the posterior teeth shorter than the central tooth and more or less blunt. The lower lip is half divided into two parallel awl teeth. The crown is barely twice as long as the calyx and a little smaller than that of the little brown cell . The upper lip is whitish with pink nerves or completely pink, the lower lip is greenish white.

The flowering period extends from May to August.

Occurrence

Prunella cretensis is endemic in the central areas of the mountains of Crete . The species grows in montane, grazed Phrygana on clay soils at altitudes of 500 to 1600 meters.
