Przemislaus I of Auschwitz (also Primislaus , Przemyslaw ; Czech Přemysl Mladší Osvětimský ; Polish Przemysław oświęcimski ; * 1362/1370; † 1406 ) was Duke of Auschwitz from 1405 to 1406 . He came from the Teschen branch of the Silesian Piasts .

Life

Przemislaus parents were Duke Przemislaus I. von Teschen and Elisabeth († 1373), daughter of Duke Boleslaus von Beuthen and Cosel . Before 1400 he married a woman whose name and origin are unknown. The marriage had the only son Casimir I (1396-1434).

While he was still alive, his father transferred the Duchy of Gleiwitz to him, which he had inherited from his wife as part of the division of the Duchy of Beuthen after the death of Duke Boleslaus and the subsequent dispute between 1354 and 1369. After the death of Duke Johann III. From Teschen-Auschwitz in 1405 the direct line Auschwitz became extinct, Przemislaus inherited the Duchy of Auschwitz , which established a new Auschwitz branch, but was murdered a year later. His death was placed on the Premyslid Troppau-Ratibor duke Johann II . Since Przemislaus' son Kasimir was only ten years old, the Duchy of Auschwitz initially fell to Przemislaus father Przemislaus I of Teschen.
