Psammus
According to Herodotus and Kenneth A. Kitchen, Psammus was the 3rd pharaoh of the 23rd dynasty after Osorkon IV. His reign is around 722 / 30–712 BC. BC.
Other names of this pharaoh are Psametich (after Herodotus) or Psammis . According to Psammus, after Africanus , there could have been another pharaoh named Zet ( Setnacht = Zet = Sethoos ?) In this 23rd dynasty .
Overall, little is known about this pharaoh. He became Pharaoh as a child, died before growing up and is said to have ruled Tanis . Only one trip to what is now Ethiopia is reported from his short reign .
