Pseudohyponatremia

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

When pseudohyponatraemia is a measuring technology, low sodium concentration.

Pathophysiology

The sodium is only found in the aqueous part of the serum . It is not found in proteins and lipids . The standard methods for determining the sodium concentration, such as flame photometric or indirect ion-selective measurement, result in incorrectly low sodium values at high lipid or protein concentrations.
