Pseudo- writing or pseudo- writing refers to a system of stringed together graphic characters or symbols that resemble characters and imitate an inscription . The similarities to a common writing system can be intentional; however, there can also be only a purely coincidental similarity.

Similarities to common writing systems can for example be intended to prior illiterate a reading and writing skills pretend.
