Psyclon Nine is an American musical group from San Francisco that was founded in 2000.

Stylistically, it is closest to the Aggrotech , but also combines various elements, such as: B. of alternative metal . The group broke up in 2009 because of Nero Bellum's opiate addiction. The reunification took place in 2010 and the band has been performing again since October 2011.

history

In 2000 Nero Bellum (at that time under the pseudonym Marshall Carnage) and Josef Heresy founded the rock-oriented project Defkon Sodomy under the influence of the bands KMFDM and Ministry . After Defkon Sodomy gained notoriety, the direction changed and was heavily influenced by Suicide Commando's album Mindstrip . They initially played two smaller but successful shows. The first appearance took place in the Castro Valley as the opening act for CompostFilter . The second appearance (for the first time under the name Psyclon Nine) was a smaller festival by the band See Colin Slash , whose frontman Eric Gottesman was added as the third band member.

Others

Nero Bellum stated in an interview that rumors about his alleged National Socialist attitude were circulating. He countered this by saying that a member of the band, Eric Gottesmans, was a Jew and worked as a chasan in a synagogue in Los Angeles in his free time . There he also came across a Hebrew prayer that can be heard in Requiem for the Christian Era .

The video clip for the song Parasitic was made in collaboration with Mushroomhead member Richard "Rick" Thomas. It was shot in Cleveland in November 2007 after touring together .
