Publius Aelius Alexander

Publius Aelius Alexander was a member of the Roman knighthood ( Eques ) living in the 2nd century AD .

A military diploma dated October 11, 146 proves that Alexander 146 was in command of the Cohors II Mattiacorum , which was stationed in the province of Moesia inferior at that time .

Alexander came from Ancyra, today's Ankara . His father had probably received Roman citizenship under Hadrian .
