Pucher from Meggenhausen
Pucher von Meggenhausen , also Puecher von Meggenhausen , from Pucher zu Meggenhausen , was the name of an Austrian noble family that originated in the canton of Graubünden ( Switzerland ). The progenitor of the family was Erhard Pucher , who was born in Geneva in 1443 by the then German king and later Emperor Friedrich III. was knighted .
Nobility uprisings
- The brothers Johann Rudolf Pucher and Georg Niklas Pucher von Meggenhausen were raised to the Austrian knightly nobility with an improved coat of arms on October 3rd, 1603 in Prague by Emperor Rudolf II . Johann Rudolf was also given the imperial fief of Meckenhausen.
- At his request, Johann Georg Pucher was knighted by the Elector of Mainz in 1635 .
- On January 3, 1652, the same Johann Georg Pucher was raised in Vienna to the Austrian baron class with the title of nobility "from and to Meggenhausen zu Kadau, Reichenberg and Zwölfaxing" . After the fall of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, the name was shortened to Pucher. The descendants live in Austria today.
