Pulai Redang is a Malaysian island in the South China Sea . It is located about 25 km off the east coast of the Malay Peninsula and about 50 km northwest of the city of Kuala Terengganu at 5 ° 47 'north latitude and 103 ° east longitude.

The island, about 25 km² in size, is well developed for tourism through 17 hotel complexes and is a popular holiday destination for all-inclusive tourists as well as short vacationers from Malaysia and Singapore . The only larger town on the island is on the southwest tip of the island. This is where the larger speedboats from Kuala Terengganu (around 75 minutes), which bring tourists, food and other hotel needs to the island, dock. Even a small airstrip is located here during the holiday season daily from Kuala Lumpur with Berjaya Air will fly. However, the majority of the resort facilities are located in the east of the island. Since there is no paved connection between the southwestern tip and the beaches in the east, these are served by the hotel's own speedboats from the city of Merang (approx. 45 minutes).

Redang has some very nice white sand beaches. The two main beaches Teluk Kalong and Pasir Panjang are in the east. In the northeast of the island is Teluk Dalam Kecil Bay with another very beautiful and wide sandy beach, which also merges very gently into the open water. Adventure seekers can hike between these two beaches via a small jungle path. You can go on worthwhile diving or snorkeling tours to the eight surrounding small islands or to the turtle bay in the north of the island, which like the main island also belong to the Pulau Redang National Park . The underwater world around the island is largely intact, there is a very dense and beautiful vegetation with over 60 different soft and hard coral species , as well as some large and small fish.
