The Punta Durán is a headland in the north of Maxwell Bay ( called Bahía Fildes in Chile ) on the south coast of King George Island , the largest of the South Shetland Islands . It lies between Nebles Point in the east and Jasper Point in the west.
The headland forms the eastern boundary of the ship's bay and, according to the Chilean description in the Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica of the Scientific Committee for Antarctic Research, the northern (more precisely northeastern) boundary of Ardley Cove , which, according to the Chilean view, includes ship's bay , Norma Cove and Rocky Cove as secondary bays .
