The “Sonnenhäusel” puppet theater is one of three park theaters in the Great Garden in Dresden . Located at Herkulesallee 1 in the north-western part of the Great Garden, it offers space for around 350 spectators.

The "Sonnenhäusel" was completed in 1955, the architect was Krista Grunicke (Dresden). Their cheerful baroque note ”is also taken up by the curved slate-covered tent roof in the style of chinoiserie , the bell tower and a sun relief by Eva Schwager .

The puppeteers of Theater Junge Generation play on since 1998 in the summer with regularly changing presentations the open-air puppet theater . During the summer holidays of the Free State of Saxony, the Luna puppet theater from Leipzig also regularly plays in the Sonnenhäusel with traditional Saxon puppet theater .
