Purged is an Australian thrash metal band from Melbourne that was formed in 1995.
history
The band was formed in January 1995. In March, she recorded a demo conducted by Mark McCormack at St. Andrews Studios . 500 copies of the demo were sold in Australia. In September the band played as opening act for Deicide . In October the band played at the Festival Hall and played with White Zombie .
The label Stubble Records became aware of the band. The record deal resulted in the debut album Form of Release , which was recorded between January and March 1996 at St. Andrews Studios by Mark McCormack. The release was managed by Shock Records . The album was released on August 19, 1996. In September the album took 11th place in the Australian Hard Music Charts and in October 8th place. The album was also released in Europe , Asia and the US in 1997 through Metal Blade Records .
In 1999 the album Balance of Power was released through Stubble Records.
