The Pushkin Bridge ( Russian Пушкинский мост Pushkinski most ) is a pedestrian bridge over the Moskva River in Moscow . The bridge connects the Frunzenskaya embankment with the Pushkinskaya embankment.

description

The Pushkin Bridge was built in 1999 using the construction of the old Andreev Bridge. The old Andreyev Railway Bridge, which connected Lenin Prospect with the Luzhnikiviertel , was built in 1905–1907 according to plans by the architect AN Pomerantsev and the engineers LD Proskuryakov and PJ Kamentsev. At the end of the 1990s, when planning the Third Transport Ring , it became necessary to build two bridges (car and railroad bridge) at roughly the same point through which the Third Transport Ring could cross the Moscow River. It was decided to build a completely new railway bridge here; the arch of the old bridge, whose technical condition was excellent, was to become part of the other, new Pushkin pedestrian bridge .

Accordingly, in 1999 the 135 m long and 1500 tonne arch was dismantled and moved to a new location, approximately one and a half kilometers downstream. The entire work took eleven months, navigation on this section of the river was interrupted for eight days, and the actual towing on three barges took only an hour and a half. Since the river bed of the Moskva is wider there than at the old location near Luzhniki, the arch on Frunzenskaya embankment is not supported directly on the bank, but on a support in the river bed, which in turn is connected to the bank by two concrete arches, each 25 m wide are connected. The clearance height of the bridge is 13.9 m.

designation

The official name of the bridge is Pushkinski Bridge . Due to the fact that the old Andreev Arch was used, the bridge received the more popular name Andreevsky . This name is often used even on the maps of Moscow.
