ECOVIS International is a global network with a focus on auditing , legal , tax and business consulting . ECOVIS International was founded in 2008 as a Swiss association based in Zurich . The name “Ecovis” is made up of economy and vision . The members of ECOVIS International are legally and financially independent.

In 2018 members of ECOVIS International had 7,225 employees in over 75 countries. The British online magazine Accountancy Age lists ECOVIS International among the 15 largest auditors worldwide. The International Accounting Bulletin calculated that ECOVIS International had sales of USD 1,079 million (including associated US partners) in the same year.

ECOVIS International's clients are primarily medium-sized companies (SMEs) and family businesses.

In January 2019, ECOVIS International joined the Forum of Firms (FoF). The FoF is an independent association of international networks of companies that carry out cross-border audits . One goal of the FoF is to establish international standards for annual financial statements .

history

The foundation of Ecovis in Germany

In 2003, two tax consulting companies with strong regional roots founded Ecovis as a strategic partnership. The beginnings of Ecovis go back to 1909.

In 2007 Ecovis achieved an annual turnover of 99 million euros in Germany. For 2006 and 2007, the economist Rafael J. Weber classified Ecovis as a "medium-sized" auditing company. Weber described those auditors who audited 25 to 65 annual financial statements as medium-sized .

Today Ecovis is represented in Germany with more than 1,500 employees at over 100 locations. In 2017 Ecovis achieved sales of 154.2 million euros in Germany.

The expansion of ECOVIS International

ECOVIS International was registered as an association in the commercial register of the Canton of Zurich on May 28, 2008 . Since then, ECOVIS International has continuously expanded its global presence. The US auditor Marcum LLP joined ECOVIS International in 2016 as an associated partner.

The purpose of the association is the "development of the international ECOVIS group" and the "promotion of the economic interests of its members and cooperation on all technical and organizational levels."

Corporate philosophy

The basic idea of ​​ECOVIS International is: "global expertise with local faces". This idea should show both customer proximity and the global presence of ECOVIS International.

Services

ECOVIS International offers auditing, bookkeeping, legal, tax and business advice as well as other international services:

  • Accounting includes: payroll accounting, financial accounting, tax refunds, sales tax returns and consolidated financial statements
  • Auditing includes, among other things: Voluntary and legally required audits according to ISA , auditing of annual reports and financial due diligence .

Other services include global compliance, transfer pricing advice, and global business formation

The members of ECOVIS International also offer lectures and webinars on all of these service areas .

In view of the challenges of the digital age, ECOVIS International is working on the integration of cloud technology , big data and AI in the execution of audits .

ECOVIS International is an association of legally independent companies with their own client base .

ECOVIS International is represented by a management board and a supervisory board. Kay Friedrich Thomsen has been President of ECOVIS International since it was founded in 2008.

Social Commitment

Ecovis & friends was founded in 2013 as a non-profit foundation in Munich. The purpose of the foundation is to support adolescents with a focus on education, culture and health.
