The Pyramid Peak (English for Pyramidenspitze ) is a 475 m high mountain on the north coast of South Georgia . It towers above Cape Buller on the west side of the entrance to the Bay of Isles
Participants in the Swedish Antarctic Expedition (1901–1903) under the direction of Otto Nordenskjöld named it descriptively as The Pyramid . The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee translated this designation into English in 1955 in an adapted form.
