Pyramis is a three-dimensional abstract strategy game for two people developed by Murray J. Gould and James R. Longacre and published by Abalone Games . It is based on the game principle of five in a row , whereby the players try to place a sequence of five tiles on a pyramid and thus win. In 1991 , ategorum was included in the recommendation list Mensa Select of the Association Mensa International .

Background and game material

Pyramis is based on the classic game mechanics of five in a row , whereby the players try to use their tiles to place a sequence of five connected tiles on the sides of a tetrahedral pyramid . The game material consists of a rotatable, three-dimensional gray pyramid and a set of 42 white and black tiles each.

Game flow

To prepare for the game, each player chooses a game color and receives a set of tiles. The rotating pyramid is placed in the middle of the table. Beginning with a starting player, the two players now alternately place a tile each on one of the three sides of the pyramid, always building from the base to the top of the pyramid. There is a pressure to act, so you are not allowed to stop voluntarily.

The players try to lay down a sequence of five tiles by placing the tiles. Exactly five tiles must be connected - if there are more than five, the game continues. The game ends when a player can show exactly 5 tiles in a contiguous area that can also go around the corner of the pyramid. That player wins the game. If the pyramid is filled without a player connecting five tiles, the game ends in a draw.
