The Qatar Stock Exchange is the main stock exchange in Qatar . The QSE is a full member of the World Federation of Exchanges . In June 2018, the total market capitalization (value of all listed companies) was approximately 149.7 billion US dollars.

history

Established in 1995, the Doha Securities Market (DSM) was officially launched in 1997. Since then, the stock exchange has developed into one of the leading stock markets in the Gulf region .

In June 2009, Qatar Holding , the strategic and direct investment arm of the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), and NYSE Euronext , the world's leading stock exchange group, signed an agreement to form a strategic partnership to establish the stock exchange worldwide. The DSM was renamed the Qatar Stock Exchange after the deal was closed.

The main goal of the Qatar Stock Exchange is to support the Qatar economy by allowing Qatar companies to raise capital as part of their corporate strategy and providing investors with a platform where they can trade a wide variety of financial products transparently and efficiently. The Qatar Stock Exchange also provides the public with access to market information and ensures the correct dissemination of information.
