The Qeqertarsuaq Museum ( Danish Qeqertarsuaq Museum , Greenlandic Qeqertarsuup Katersugaasivia ) is the local museum of Qeqertarsuaq .

history

The Qeqertarsuaq Museum opened in 1992.

building

The museum is located in building B-5. It was built in 1840 and was the home of the inspector of North Greenland , whose capital was Qeqertarsuaq. The building is protected. exhibition

On the ground floor there is an archaeological exhibition and the will-donated collection of Gunnar P. Rosendahl , whose father Philip Rosendahl was a Landsfoged of North Greenland. There is also a memorial room for Otto Sandgreen . Furthermore, special exhibitions are shown and cultural activities are organized. In the attic, works of art by Jakob Danielsen are on display. There is also a replicated cooper's workshop there. In addition, the history of the Arktisk Station and the church of Qeqertarsuaq is discussed. In the adjoining building, you can see the Landsfoged's dog sled or kayak.
