Philip Rosendahl

Philip Rosendahl (born May 31, 1893 in Sakskøbing ; † October 4, 1974 ) was a Danish civil servant and Landsfoged of North Greenland .

Philip Rosendahl worked as a journalist for the Greenland administration from 1913 to 1914. In 1916 he graduated from law school. From 1916 to 1919 he worked in Qaqortoq . Then he was an assistant in Paamiut . From 1925 to 1939 he was the first Landsfoged of North Greenland with an interruption that lasted from 1928 to 1929 . He was then head of the Greenland administration until 1963. He was also head of the secretariat from 1939 to 1950. From 1950 to 1952 he was involved in reforming the Greenland administration. From 1953 to 1963 he also worked in areas such as fishing, hunting and economics. He was a great supporter of the painter Jakob Danielsen .

Philip Rosendahl was the son of Sophus Emil Rosendahl and Elise Cathrine Ottosen. On November 3, 1918, he married the 23-year-old Agnes Johanne Erichsen in Qaqortoq . The marriage resulted in the director Gunnar P. Rosendahl (1919–1996), who was married to the Danish Minister Lise Østergaard .
