Matthias War

Matthias Krieg (born January 12, 1980 in Ludwigsburg ) is a former German basketball player . The 2.04 meter tall indoor player  made ten appearances in the basketball league in the colors of TSK universa Bamberg .

Career

In 2000, Krieg moved from BG Ludwigsburg to TSK universa Bamberg in the basketball league . In the course of the 2000/01 season he was used by the Upper Franconia in ten first division games and scored a total of eight points. In addition, thanks to a “double license”, he gained playing experience at TSV Breitengüßbach in the 2nd basketball league .

The center player left Bamberg and Germany in 2001 and went to the United States, where he continued his basketball career at university level. From 2001 to 2003 Krieg studied and played at Missouri State University-West Plains and from 2003 to 2005 at Abilene Christian University in Texas .

In the 2007/08 season he was again active in basketball in Germany and strengthened the regional league team MTV Stuttgart . Between 2008 and 2012 he played for Munich Basket (first in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB , later in the Regionalliga).

The business administration graduate worked in the energy industry.

National team

In August 1999, Krieg took part in the European Championship with the German U20 national team and scored an average of 3.2 points in six matches during the tournament.
