Knight Riders - Knights on hot stoves is an American film drama directed by George A. Romero from the year 1981 about Billy, the leader of a traveling showman troops on motorcycles presents medieval jousting tournaments.
action
Billy, self-proclaimed king and head of a show troupe who staged knightly tournaments on motorcycles at medieval markets, dreams of the idyll of knightly ideals and values of the Middle Ages . However, intra-group rivalries for love, power and prestige, the lure of lucrative appearances and differing ideas of individual group members threaten Billie's idealized ideas. In addition, despite their success with the public, the group has to assert itself against resistance from outside, such as corrupt police officers or profit-hungry organizers, which they try to compensate by dangerous and daring appearances on their motorcycles. Finally, Sir Morgan, the black knight fights for the royal dignity.
production
According to Romero was one of his main ideas to Knight Riders, the Society for Creative Anachronism (dt. Society for Creative Anachronism ), an amateur organization interested in the Middle Ages people. For George A. Romero, the film drama Knightriders was a film apart from the horror film genre that he otherwise successfully served .
The filming of Knightriders took place in the summer of 1980 on a site of the light rail of Pittsburgh , as well as in the allegheny counties Fawn Township and Natrona, all in the US state of Pennsylvania , instead.
The American writer Stephen King , best known for his horror novels, has a cameo in which he makes some sarcastic comments as "Hoagie man".
