Qian Tianyi ( Chinese 錢 天一 / 钱 天一 , Pinyin Qián Tiānyī ; born January 23, 2000 : p.3 in Jingjiang ) is a Chinese table tennis player .
Career
Qian had her first international appearances from 2011 at various youth tournaments, in 2014 she took part in the Asian Youth Championship, where she reached the semi-finals in singles and won silver with the team after a final defeat against Japan. In the two years that followed, she won the gold medal in both competitions, in 2016 she also took part in the Pyongyang Open, playing her first adult tournament, and in November she was placed in the top 100 of the world rankings for the first time . In 2017 and 2018, numerous other medals followed at the World Youth and Asian Championships, which she won both individually and with the team in 2018.
Due to the new world ranking calculation , through which youth tournaments are no longer relevant for the adult world ranking, it was no longer held there from 2018 for the time being. In 2019 she only competed in the adult division and played the Austrian Open , where she beat world champion Liu Shiwen and reached the semi-finals. So she was able to qualify for the World Tour Grand Finals , but lost there in the first round 3: 4 to the eventual winner Chen Meng .
