Qischn (also: Qishn ; Arabic قشن, DMG Qišn ) is a small coastal town in the al-Mahra governorate in southeastern Yemen . According to the last census in 2004, the city had 7595 inhabitants, according to calculations from 2012, 10,439 people live in Qizhn.

history
Qizhn was an important export port for frankincense in the past . The world traveler and researcher Freya Madeline Stark stated: "... from Qishn, 200 to 250 tons (incense, annually). The best incense comes from Saudah, Hadhbarm and Mirbãt, the worst from Qishn."
At the time of the Mahri sultans , Qizhn was the capital of their empire Qizhn and Socotra . The main town on Socotra was Tamrida , today's Hadibu .
