Quadrophonia was a techno project of the early 1990s, consisting of the Dutch DJ , producer and remixer Lucien Foort and the Belgian DJ Olivier Abbeloos (born January 18, 1969 ). The two protagonists also worked together as Warp Factor 1 , Holographic Hallucination , Orion and Dynetic .

Band history

At the end of 1990 the first single Quadrophonia was released , which in spring 1991 became the greatest success of the duo of the same name. The song with sampled bleeps (beeps) from Yellow Magic Orchestras Computer Games and sounds from 16 BITs Changing Minds made it into the Dutch and English Top 20 as well as 7th on the Billboard Dance Music / Club Play Singles . In Germany it was enough for a top 40 placement.

A second hit followed in the summer of the year with The Wave of the Future . The track, in which samples from Raw Silks Do It to the Music and Eric B. & Rakim's Let the Rhythm Hit 'Em are processed, was placed in the top 30 in Switzerland , the top 40 in England and 13th in dance music / Club Play Singles.

The third release from the Cozmic Jam album , Find the Time (Part 1) , briefly entered the UK charts at the end of the year. A few Quadrophonia singles were released until 1993, but they could not build on earlier successes. Only Schizofrenia brought the project into the Dance Music / Club Play Singles category again in 1992, this time in 9th place.

Foort and Abbeloos published further joint productions under different pseudonyms until 1996 and then turned to other projects.
