Quality-centered school development

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Quality-centered school development (QZS) is a process for school development with the help of quality management . With the help of this procedure, schools can systematize, structure and document their work processes. In addition, schools are supported in the implementation of self-evaluation and external evaluation . All quality areas described in the respective orientation framework for school quality can be processed, evaluated and optimized at the school independently of the respective federal state with the help of the procedure.

The QZS procedure is one of the four official support systems of the state of Baden-Württemberg for general education schools for self-evaluation / school evaluation. It can also be used in vocational schools and schools in other federal states. QZS can be used well in combination with SEIS , for example .

The development of QZS

The QZS procedure was developed between 2002 and 2006 as part of the “ Q-Regions ” project in Baden-Württemberg. It was developed and evaluated with schools of all school types. The project was content and funding from the State Association of Baden-Württemberg Employers' Associations, the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports of Baden-Württemberg , the federal and state working group SCHOOL ECONOMY and the Association of Metal and Electrical Industry Baden-Württemberg eV - Südwestmetall worn . The project was scientifically supported and evaluated by the management consultancy "MTO Psychologische Forschung und Beratung GmbH Tübingen".

Structure of the procedure

The central support component of the QZS procedure is the QZS guide. There all central steps are described which are necessary for the implementation and implementation of the procedure at a school. The guide provides working and information materials for this.

The process of quality-centered school development consists of the following steps:

  1. The introduction of an in-house quality management system: After a status analysis in which the current status of school development and quality management are analyzed, there are five steps to ensure acceptance , formation of a quality team, establishment of external contacts, qualification of teaching staff, and finally planning and organization.
  2. The implementation of the quality management: The school develops its own quality model , taking into account country-specific quality concepts, and specifies concrete quality standards . The associated central process flows, e.g. B. for the design of lessons, are recorded in writing. In a self-evaluation, the school checks the quality standards and processes with the help of existing and school-owned instruments and derives measures for quality assurance and development from the results and implements them.
  3. The documentation of the quality management: The quality model and the process sequences can be recorded in the quality management manual, the continuous planning, implementation, results of internal evaluations and school development measures taken in the evaluation report booklet.
