Amphoe Tha Bo ( Thai : อำเภอ ท่าบ่อ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the west of the Nong Khai Province . The province of Nong Khai is located in the north of the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan .
geography
The province of Nong Khai is located about 615 kilometers northeast of Bangkok along the Mekong , which here forms the border with Laos .
Tha Bo District borders the following counties (from the east clockwise) to the Amphoe Mueang Nong Khai and Sakhrai in Nong Khai province to Amphoe Ban Phue of Udon Thani province , and to the Amphoe Pho Tak and Si Chiang Mai again in of Nong Khai Province. To the northeast lies on the other side of the Mekong River , the Vientiane prefecture of Laos .
history
The history of the district goes back to Mueang Tha Bo, which was founded in 1897. The first governor (Chao Mueang) was Phra Kupradit Padi ( พระ กุ ประดิษฐ์ บ ดี ).

- Tha Bo (Thai: เทศบาล เมือง ท่าบ่อ ), consisting of parts of the Tambon Tha Bo and Nam Mong.
There are three municipalities with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:
- Kong Nang (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล กอง นาง ), consisting of the entire tambon Kong Nang.
- Ban Thon (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บ้าน ถ่อ น ), consisting of the entire tambon Ban Thon.
- Phon Sa (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล โพน สา ), consisting of parts of the tambon Phon Sa.
There are also eight " Tambon Administrative Organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO):
