Quanta laetitia

With the encyclical Quanta laetitia of February 13, 1827 Pope Leo XII. proposed a reorganization of the Roman Catholic Church in Scotland . After praising and honoring the previous Vicars Apostolic in Scotland, after extensive deliberations, he responded to the request for a reorganization. Scotland was divided into the ecclesiastical provinces of East, West and North and the affiliations of the counties , areas, cities and towns to the dioceses were determined.
