Charitate Christi ( lat. "The love of Christ") is an encyclical from Pope Leo XII. , with which on December 25, 1825, he extended the universal year of jubilee 1825 that he had proclaimed in the encyclical " Quod hoc ineunte " .

Leo XII. praised the great willingness and thanked all pilgrims for their tireless visit to the Holy City of Rome and the Holy Places. He mentioned the Church's former austerity with regard to repentance . He pointed out that the practically eased requirements should not lead to indulgence in penance and observance of the sacraments . Otherwise, the Pope believed, a threat to the Church would arise and Christian society would be endangered. With these statements he exhorted the scrupulous supervision of the clergy and reminded of the concern for the poor and weak.
