Quantum3

Quantum3 is a game engine developed by High Voltage Software . In 2008 it achieved notoriety largely because it was able to implement graphic effects that were rarely realized on the Wii console.

According to Eric Nofsinger, Chief Creative Officer at High Voltage Software, the Quantum3 engine has been used in most of the developer's games since 2005 - including games that have been released for PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable . Currently (as of 2008) it is mainly optimized for Wii .

The adjustments of the engine for Wii are to the effect that it is supposed to enable some graphic effects, which up to now have mainly been used in the console area on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 , such as: B. bump mapping , reflections, light refraction, shadow mapping , motion blur , animated textures, etc.
