The Quatuor Mosaïques is a string quartet ensemble that was founded in 1989 in Vienna by the section leaders of the Concentus Musicus Wien (see Nikolaus Harnoncourt ). It is dedicated to historical performance practice on original instruments. In addition to the classical quartet literature, in particular the Viennese Classic , a focus is also on the rediscoveries of unknown masterpieces from the Classical and early Romantic periods (e.g. by Louis-Emmanuel Jadin and Luigi Boccherini ).

The quartet has received numerous record awards, including the Gramophone Award for the recordings of quartets by Haydn ( 1993 and 1996 ).
