The Quirimbas archipelago consists of around 30 small coral islands in the Indian Ocean that stretch along the coast of the Cabo Delgado province in northern Mozambique . The archipelago is named after the island of Quirimba , while the largest and most populous is its neighboring island of Ibo . The eleven southernmost islands are part of the Quirimbas National Park .

Due to its importance for both natural and cultural heritage, the archipelago was added to the UNESCO tentative list on August 20, 2008 in the mixed category of cultural and natural heritage.
