The Quitzerower castle belonged to the eastern Landwehr of the town of Demmin that have become part of the extreme Demminer fortification along the Pensiner trench from the Tolense at Siedenbrünzow to Peenetal at Pensin went. Little information about the castle has come down to us from the city's books: It was inhabited by a castle man. In 1577 the castle man was called Geyger and received two shillings of beer money from the city. In 1578 the city built a new oven for him. In 1592 the castle got a new furnace. In 1609 the roof of the castle was re-covered with 4,000 tiles. The tin button on the top of the tower cost 6 marks back then.
During the Thirty Years' War the castle was badly damaged and the northern Burgwiek, the farmyard, burned down. In 1663 the city of Demmin decided to demolish the Quitzerower Castle.
