Quizzes are money

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Quizzes is money was a live moderated online - Quiz - Show and was the first of its kind in Germany. The show was produced by First1 Networks GmbH , which was founded by Thorsten Rauser in the summer of 2007 . The studio was in Berlin . Until the end of 2008 the show was presented under the title "How far will you go".

Since the beginning of 2009, 21 shows have been broadcast on weekdays : Mon – Thu 12 noon – 4pm & 5–8pm. The shows take place on Fridays from 12pm to 6pm. Since October 2009 they tried their hand at broadcasting times between 6 and 10 p.m. On November 27, 2009, the show was finally stopped. Despite all efforts, the number of players was too small to work profitably by the end.

Conditions of participation and fees

Only candidates who had fully registered on the website of the organizer and who had reached the age of 18 were allowed to take part in the show. Unregistered visitors could watch the show in spectator mode. However, no monetary gains were possible. When registering, you had to give your full name, full address and a telephone number where you can be reached. To check whether you were of legal age , you had to give your identity card number. In order to prepare, questions from previous shows could be replayed in the training center.

Participation in a show initially cost between EUR 1.82 and EUR 2.50, depending on the ticket package purchased. For each ticket, 0.80 euros went into the jackpot , which was played out. If already registered players recruit new candidates who then take part in the show, they receive a free game.

Rules of the game

In each question and answer session, candidates were asked a question with four selectable answers, one of which is correct. If a candidate answers the question correctly, he qualifies for the next round of questions. Otherwise he is eliminated and does not receive any money. Each candidate has the opportunity to use a joker once during the show. If he clicks on the joker , the answer that was chosen by most of the candidates is automatically chosen. If all candidates have used the joker at the same time, the question is considered to have been answered correctly and all qualify for the next round of questions. Everyone has 10 seconds to answer a question. If someone has not decided on an answer or on the use of the joker after this time has elapsed, the question is considered to have been answered incorrectly. The difficulty of the questions increases with each round of questions.

If at least 80 percent of the candidates are eliminated, the remaining candidates receive a cash offer in each question and answer session before the question is asked. Now everyone can decide whether to quit and take the money or continue playing. If he continues to play, he runs the risk of receiving nothing if he fails at the next question and is eliminated. The money supply is calculated as follows:

If all candidates take the money, the money offer doubles for each candidate, so that the entire jackpot is paid out and the game is over. If there is only one candidate left in the game, he is the winner of the day and receives all of the money that is still in the jackpot. The moderator calls the winner or, if there are several winners, one of them. Is there no winner, i. H. all candidates fail on a question and are eliminated if the money that is still in the jackpot is added to the jackpot in the next show.

Others

Initially, the offer was in the so-called "warm-up phase", which meant that technical problems could occur again and again during the show. In these cases, the candidates get their stakes back. The vision was to later run the show with 10,000 candidates or more.

At the end of 2008 the portal went online with a relaunch. Solitaire games, among other things, have not been offered since then, and overall the new design should make it easier for players to find their way around.
