Qullikorsuit is an uninhabited island in the Upernavik district of Avannaata Kommunia , Greenland .
history
The island was inhabited between 1916, when the Appaalissiorfik settlement was founded, and 1923. Appaalissiorfik was located on the southwestern cape, also called Appaalissiorfik.
geography
Qullikorsuit is located in the north-central part of the Upernavik archipelago in an archipelago between the Kangerlussuaq fjord in the south and the Nuussuaq peninsula in the north. The island is the largest in the group. The island is hilly, the highest point is the Sullaassartooq with a height of 822 meters. The top of the mountain in permanently iced over.
