Quorn is a small town in northern South Australia , 39 kilometers northeast of Port Augusta . In a 2016 census, Quorn had 1,131 inhabitants.

history

The town was founded in 1878 by Godfrey Walsh as part of the construction of the Great Northern Railway and named after Quorn in Great Britain . The line between Quorn and Port Augusta is now operated by the Pichi Richi Railway (PRR), a museum railway named after the Pichi Richi Pass that the railway crosses.
