Qurum ( Arabic القرم, DMG al-Qurum ) is a city that belongs to the Wilaya Matrah in Muscat Governorate and is located in the northeast of the Sultanate of Oman . It is located west of Ruwi and north of Wilaya Madinat as-Sultan Qaboos .

It is divided into the Niyaba Qurum and Shati al-Qurum and extends from the east to the headland of Ra's al-Hamra . Qurum is the Arabic word for mangrove ; Today, however, mangroves can only be found in the Qurum National Park and Nature Reserve .

Qurum is one of the best residential areas in the Muscat Capital Area , and the Qurum Hights location is one of the most expensive in the country. When construction began there in the 1980s, remnants of prehistoric settlements from around 2000 BC were found. BC, including on graves with grave goods, remains of pile dwellings and stone tools. Some finds are now exhibited in several museums in the city.
