The Râmnicul Sărat ( German Rimnic ) is a right tributary of the Sereth in Romania.
The Battle of Mărtineşti took place on this river on September 22, 1789 , during which the Russian and Austrian troops under the command of General Alexander Suvorov and Prince Coburg defeated the four-fold superior Turkish army. Suvorov received the title of Count Rymnikski for this . His son Arcadi died in the same river during the next Russo-Turkish war in 1811.
