The Röderschlösschen is located in Liebenstein in the Ilm district in Thuringia .

history

The Röderschlösschen was built around 1750 as a residence for Baron Röder. He only used the castle for a year. In 1850 the property passed to the Duchy of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha . It was used as the Duke's headquarters. Various offices were later housed in this property. It even became a judicial office and prison , which was dissolved again in 1920.

After the Second World War, the community took over the property. It now housed the community office, the local history museum , the library and a meeting place .

Design features

The castle has structured coat of arms cartouches in the Rococo style . The gable triangle on the building is also remarkably designed. The ballroom has an ornate stucco ceiling with shaped rosettes . In 1997 the modern partitions were removed and the stucco ceiling exposed.
