Roman prose writers in new translations is the title of a translation series that was edited by Gottlieb Lukas Friedrich Tafel (1787–1860), Christian Nathanael Osiander (1781–1855) and Gustav Schwab (1792–1850) from 1826 to 1877 at Metzler-Verlag appeared in Stuttgart . The series with German translations of classics of Latin literature comprises a total of 242 volumes.
Tafel, Osiander and Schwab also published: Greek prose writers in new translations (1–355), Greek poets in new metric translations (1–75) and Roman poets in new metric translations (1–77).
